Group Therapy
We provide a ten-session group therapy program targeted at clients with functional neurological disorder (FND). Groups are run for 6-8 individuals who complete the ten-session program together.

Our group therapy program provides a comprehensive introduction to functional neurological disorder (FND). The ten sessions focus on the management and treatment of FND, providing an opportunity to learn about psychological and neurobiological mechanisms, as well as a range of symptom management strategies.
Within the group, each individual can gain a deeper understanding of their difficulties, and learn from the experiences of others with FND. At the end of the ten-session program, individuals may decide they no longer need to be seen, or can transition to individual therapy with one of our clinicians. Issues addressed in individual treatment expand on those within the group, so a group program followed by one-on-one therapy is a beneficial treatment pathway. Patients can access Medicare rebates for 10 group sessions in addition to 10 individual sessions per calendar year, providing ongoing psychological support across the year.
Our group therapy program is currently delivered in-person at our clinic, located at Neuropsychology East Melbourne, Level 2, 138-146 Cardigan Street, Carlton VIC 3052 (view map).
Please note that our services are not bulk-billed. There will be a consultation fee for you to pay on the day of your appointment. Refer to our Rates page for our schedule of fees.
Group psychological therapy is subsidised by Medicare for clients with either one of the following:
