For Referrers
If you are a health professional referring a client to our clinic, please read the information below:

We accept referrals for clients with a range of neurological and psychological conditions that significantly impact their quality of life, psychological wellbeing or cognitive functioning.
We focus on the treatment of Functional Neurological Disorders (FND), complex trauma, and anxiety and depression in people with neurological disorders.
We accept referrals for clients aged 16 and above.
Clients are typically referred for psychological therapy by their GP, psychiatrist, or neurologist.
Referrals from other health professionals and self-referrals are also welcome.
GP referrals should be accompanied by a Mental Health Treatment Plan (Mental Health Care Plan) so clients can access a Medicare Rebate for psychological therapy.
GP referrals should specifically state the number of therapy sessions that the client is being referred for.
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan, 10 individual and/or 10 group Medicare Rebated sessions are allowable in a calendar year.
For individual therapy, the client is expected to visit their GP for a review after Session 6 in order to access Medicare Rebates for the remaining sessions (Sessions 7-10).
Please refer to our For New Clients page for information we have provided to clients about Medicare Rebates and the Mental Health Treatment Plan.
Clients who are referred by a psychiatrist can access Medicare Rebates for psychological therapy without obtaining a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP.
Please note that referrals from psychiatrists should state the number of therapy sessions that the client is being referred for.
Clients referred by other health professionals (including neurologists) will require a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP to access Medicare Rebates for psychological therapy.
Upon receiving a referral, we will review whether our services are suitable for the client's needs.
We will then allocate the client to a psychologist through a triage process.
We will contact the client directly to make a booking and to ensure that they have the required documents (e.g., Mental Health Treatment Plan) before their first appointment.
*Please note that we have been receiving a high volume of new referrals, and it is likely that a new client will be placed on a waitlist before being seen by a psychologist.
Please send all referrals with accompanying documents (e.g., Mental Health Treatment Plan) to us via email or post.
Please also feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
