Jessamae (Mae) is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with clinical experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient adult neuropsychological services, including psychiatry, rehabilitation, diagnostic memory clinics, neurology, and general medicine.
At Neuropsychology East Melbourne, Mae provides ongoing psychological treatment (i.e., therapy/ counselling) and formal neuropsychological assessment. In her therapeutic work, she works collaboratively with adults with a range of neurological and neuropsychological conditions (including Functional Neurological Disorder) and mood-related difficulties, such as depression and anxiety. She utilises evidence-based interventions and primarily draws upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches in work.
Alongside her clinical roles, Mae also works in epilepsy research with a vibrant team within the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at The University of Melbourne. Previously, her research has been in the field of music neuroscience.
